Our Story

Founded by award winning writer, photographer, and filmmaker Quinton Gordon, Turn Signal Media is an agency focused specifically on impactful and ethical storytelling for the social development and environmental protection sectors.

Our team of writers, designers, photographers, and filmmakers has one primary goal; to help organizations like yours achieve their mission and vision through powerful storytelling, and strategic communication solutions.

Our offices are situated on the unceded traditional territories of the (Lekwungen) lək'ʷəŋən People of the Shonghees and Xwsepsum nations.

We are a team of dedicated storytellers and media professionals working with organizations focused on social and environmental change to deliver strategic communications and media based solutions rooted in human connection and ethical storytelling.

Quinton Gordon / Managing Director + Producer

With more than 25-years of experience in global communications and media as a writer, filmmaker, and photographer, working in the social development sector, Quinton’s work has taken him to the far reaches of the planet to share stories with sensitivity, compassion, and impact. His projects have included working with Indigenous and multicultural communities, international publications, NGOs, and government organizations in Canada, Greenland, New Zealand, and Asia.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Media Communications from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Master’s of Adult Education from Massey University in New Zealand where he also served on the faculty of the School of Design as a lecturer in documentary photography and media. He is an active public speaker and instructor with the Leica Akademie USA.

Solomon Wu / Director of Videography + Senior Editor

A filmmaker and photographer with over 20 years of experience in documentary storytelling. Originally from China, he spent more than a decade directing award-winning films for national broadcasters and research institutions, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences. His work reached large audiences and covered subjects ranging from scientific innovation to social issues, always with a strong emphasis on human experience.

His practice is guided by a warm, respectful, and collaborative approach, grounded in the belief that every life story has value and deserves to be preserved. 

Pauline Gallinat / Design Lead + Branding Specialist

A graphic designer and branding professional based in Victoria with over seven years of experience in visual communication, editorial design, illustration, and brand development. Holding a Bachelor of Communications Design from the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, she has led and contributed to a wide range of print and digital projects for government organizations, universities, festivals, small and midsize businesses, and non-profits in both Canada and Germany.

Her work combines strategic thinking with strong visual storytelling, specializing in publication design, infographics, motion graphics, and information-focused branding systems. Pauline has created impactful reports, high-volume festival guides, educational campaigns, and visual communication materials for clients including the Government of Yukon, the University of Victoria, Island Health, Joyful Literacy, Aryze Developments, Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria, Cool Aid Society, Nanaimo Fringe and the Victoria Film Festival.

Gurleen Kaur Cheema / Graphic Designer + Video Editor

Originally from India, Gurleen’s work is shaped by a deep love for the design, moving image, and a PhD in Animated Film, English, and Cultural Studies. She brings a scholar’s eye to the editing suite, blending insight with technical craft in design and film. For Gurleen, storytelling is a form of visual poetry. She is dedicated to translating complex ideas into narratives that prioritize human connection and cultural nuance.

Rosa Gonzalez / Digital Marketing Specialist

A digital marketing strategist who combines a background in Communication, Marketing, and an MBA to shape promotion strategies rooted in social impact, creativity, and meaning. With over seven years of experience in the non-profit sector, Rosa has witnessed how storytelling creates bridges that connect communities and fosters belonging. As a Mexican professional working across cultures, she understands diversity as a source of learning, perspective, and continual growth.

Note: a few things we don’t do: crisis communications, media relations, or full corporate strategic planning. But we have great business partners who do this work very well, so let us know if you’re looking for these services.
